Is it a family run business?
Yep, three generations it’s been in the family since Grandpa Roy started the business with his partner, Howard W. Hessenaur, in 1936. It is rumoured that Grandpa could balance a park bench on his chin. I often saw him balance a chair on his chin. He was great at balancing, so when he co-founded the business in 1936, he believed in balancing the principles of stocking the right fasteners, providing good quality products, and meeting the demand for hard-to-source fasteners which were available in stock and delivered when you need them.

Do you have a retail store open to the public?
Yes, we call it the Spaenaur Retail Counter. We also deliver free in the local area when you spend a minimum of $100. Please see our local delivery area. There are some restrictions.

What is a minimum order?
In Canada, $5. Orders shipping to the US the minimum is $100 USD, for orders shipping Internationally there is a $300 USD minimum.
What is the Product Package Quantity?
The package quantities vary and are listed in the catalog for each item. However, you don’t have to buy a full box – we don’t have minimums on in-stock SKUs .

Spaenaur Shipping & Distribution
How much is shipping? Is there free shipping?
Delivery charges depend on a number of things like: the weight of the item(s) and the destination, when you expect to receive it, etc. However, you are able to use your own courier account or ours.
If you are shipping domestically within Canada, we do offer free shipping (via Spaenaur’s carrier of choice) on orders over $1000 (before tax).
If you are shipping to the US or Internationally, you will need to provide us with your courier account and you will be responsible for shipping plus any duty or customs fees.
If you are shipping locally, in-store pick up is always free, or free shipping is offered on orders of $100 or more. Please see our local delivery area.

Yes, we ship almost anywhere.
Can I use my own courier account?
Absolutely. We support shipping with a number of couriers on a customer’s account: FedEx, Purolator, UPS, Dicom, Loomis, DHL, Cardinal, Midland, Canada Parcel Post, and Sameday. Just specify the courier, service type and account number on your PO. (You can also ship with ours.)
